WORLD'S ECONOMIC CATASTROPH....!!!!

In the year 2008 & 2009and subsequent blog write ups in 2009, I had advocated the pumping of cash into the failing economy of USA & Europe. It was then presumed that the cash pumped into economy will boost the morale of sagging business community of those regions, it will support the Government backed effort to look into the banks & other financial institutions getting support so that they will not fail the people of their country at the same time they will ensure that the money is used as oiling the economic giant wheel. In fact these governments perhaps had no other choice at the same no other way out of it.

These governments perhaps missed the line in between that the funds so released needed to come back to Government in forms of taxes, bonds and other investments to avoid inflationary pressure. The losses on the non-performing assets could have been better handled with the buying of those assets by the governments from these banks so that the funds can get pumped in the market economy at the same time the government sell those NPA at losses and cash so received could be adjusted against the cash so issued to the banks to pull back those cash from the economy, minus the loss.

This could have released these banks from the losses and could have saved deposits of the people at the same time the banks getting bad. But the channel used by the these governments went wrong somewhere and the funds again ended up in the hands of the rich people, who grew richer! It seems to me that the present agitation which could get momentum to capture Wall Street, all over the world against the richer class and could develop into a bloody class war of 21st century.

It has been the story all over the world that the governments are less inclined to control the rich class. I am not a communist, but some of the principles of Das Kapital as written by  Karl Marx, was very good. The greed for profit by the large corporate houses have made the life hell for the people. Higher profit tends to make rich class richer and poor class poorer. The cost of many items, which we use in routine life, is so meager that we can not understand the justification for the price fixation and their actual cost structure..!

The capitalist ideology has not won over Communists. But they failed because of the people who followed and executed with utmost dishonesty. Communism failed because of its inner high handedness, while the capitalism has failed because the people's interest was overlooked at each and every move. The Government machinery has never bothered to ask why so much difference in the cost of a mobile phone or any electronic gadget and its sales price tag? The Governments all over the world have followed American & European economic models of free economies, let the entire economy at the behest of the market forces.

The basic fundamental difference between the Communists ideology and Capitalist ideology is the profit earning and looting by the big corporate houses. Capitalists economies won the so-called race because profit did not go to any person, but shared by many persons, called Shareholders. But the real cream was pocketed by the Executives. They ruled the corporates with iron hand and had lavish life style. The burden of their lavish life style was always on the consumers, who were punished just for nothing. These corporates executives are kings of their small kingdom and the have been enjoying fruits of misconceived economic system. Surprisingly, these Governments raise hackle for human rights violations at any internal incident of any country around the world, but turn blinds eye when corporates take the jobs of natives under the pretext of the cheap labour to other part of the world, creating job vacuum at home which could be one of the reason of recession being faced by these rich countries.

But there is no system prevalent anywhere in the world that those guilty of taking wrong decisions, knowingly, have ever been punished !!!! It is always people like you and me are caught in the quagmire of inflation, rising cost of living, unemployment, dwindling savings and uncertain future.

What I foresee if the time to control those tyrant leaders, who have imposed communism on the people of the world. It is time for capitalists, democratic countries to come clean on major issues related to common man. The persons manning the Govt. posts must understand the priorities. they must understand that a mobile phone is perhaps not important, but the food is.

KASHMIR A DISPUTED TERRITORY...!!!!...????

The attack on the member of Team Anna Mr. Bhushan, is deplorable act of violence. For many he did say what he had in his mind. He has right to say so and Constitution of India allows him to say whatever he has in his mind. He has expressed his views that Kashmir be allowed freedom if the people of that part of the country do not wish to be part of India. Let there be a plebiscite and let the people of that State decide their future, whether they want to be India or not? In his views, if the people decide that they do not wish to be part of India they should be granted freedom. (Ask him what if other parts of India also join the same band wagon)

Such a view is very dangerous from a person, who was not known to Indian masses few months ago! Mr. Bhushan may have been famous but his influence was limited to his profession. The Team Anna's fight against corruption brought him into the limelight. Nation was happy to have found him as he could fight with whims & fancies of Mr. Kapil Sibbal and likes.

Whatever may be his vision of Kashmir or his views on it, it should not have been expressed in in public. Such statements are political statements and I think team Anna & IAC are aloof from political adventures! He needs to understand that due to the IAC campaign he is known to whole of India. Not likes of Mr. Bhushans, anyone who is suggesting that solution, must understand that giving up on Kashmir, will be his life's last signature! No Indian will ever allow that thing to happen! Mr. Bhushan should have known what effect his statement will have on his own campaign as well as on the entire country. I feel that this was an absolutely irresponsible statement. What happened thereafter is regrettable as well as avoidable, but we know the reason for it.

People of India has suffered too much for Kashmir. Bomb blasts here & there. Thousands of people have laid their life for Kashmir, directly or Indirectly. Innocent people who were killed in the local trains, in Surat blast, New Delhi blasts and various other such terror strikes. Mumbai attack on 26/11, thousands of security personnel have laid their lives fighting terrorism in Kashmir, Kashmiri Pundits had to desert Kashmir, due to insurgency, Pakistan led conspiracies have made our life hell in our own land, all THESE EVENTS HAVE TOUGHENED OUR RESOLVE ABOUT KASHMIR. Every Indian in this country has toughened mentally , what may come, Kashmir will remain with India. If the Kashmiris want it or not. If they understand it and remain with India, they are welcome and their negative attitude could be forgiven and they could be welcome into the mainstream. But if the situation is otherwise, Indian are ready for bloodshed. They are ready for more bomb attacks and on the other side Kashmiris will have to be ready for the same!

Anyone who even thinks of considering the demand of separate Kashmir, is insulting the sacrifices given by India people all over the country. Terror strikes in J & K initially did not bother whole of India. But with the terror strike all over the country, has united the whole country against the freedom to Kashmir!!! The whole nation, not only Kashmir but Jammu, Delhi, Mumbai, Surat, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata and the entire nation has paid the price of their freedom struggle.

What freedom they want? They are free to do whatever they wish to do. Kashmiri people are perhaps last to understand their own politicians, who are minting money like anything and leaving the majority of the Kashmiri believe that the Indian Government is doing little for them and it is solely responsible for their plight. To an extent it is true but the local politicians are so powerful and so selfish that efforts by Indian Government never pays. Besides if you note the situation has always worsened during the Congress rule in the country, reason not very far away to fetch...!!!

It was my personal experience while visiting Kashmir, that the Government of India keeps too much trust on the local politicians, may it be National Conference or PDF led by Mehbooba Mufti, (who was once kidnapped by the same terror outfits, she boasts today ! ) for their actions. We need to directly contact people there. Secondly we need to remove Article 370 provision about the buying & selling of property. I envisaged the Billions of Rupees could be pumped into the Kashmir economy if such property buying & selling can be allowed, creating thousands of jobs.If the people are skeptical, make that such buying or selling needs Kashmiri with any number of Indian partners.

While visiting the tourists spots, I noted that the few local goons were controlling poor Kashmiri people. These locals goons had support of local politicians. These local politicians are the real culprit as they squeeze the arms of Indian Government on one side and the local poor Kashmiris on the other side  They are becoming richer & richer at the cost of poor local Kashmiri people. It will require a concerted efforts by people of Kashmir and firm actions from Indian Government to look into the problems of Kashmiri people and not what the local politicians show it to Indian Government.

What the Kashmiris are getting today, by keeping themselves aloof! They must understand that their freedom and their identity is safe under free India. I think they should ask the Muslims belonging to Ahemadia sect, residing in Pakistan, or for that reason even those who had migrated from India to Pakistan, still differentiated by terming them as MOHAJIRS.

By the time few Indians who have access to media likes of Mr. Bhushan, Mr.Mahesh Bhatt, should stay out of making any statements which are too sensitive for each and every Indian, who is directly or indirectly connected to the war of hatred & terror by terrorist organization, who have lately forgot, they are attacking innocent civilians for what?

Sacrifices made so are too much to give away for plebiscites. The blood shed suffered by the innocent civilians and those fighting our battles day and night, our security personnel, can not be given up that easily. Let the world remember Kashmir can become a nuclear flash-point in the Indian Sub-continent and we as a Indians are not afriad of it. At least we are not entirely responsible for it.

I think Mr.Bhushans & likes of him have got their message loud and clear....!!!

MAIN BHI ANNA....TU BHI ANNA... AB TO SARA DESH HAI ANNA...!!!

Thursday, 25th August 2011

Today is the 10th day of Fast Unto Death, initiated by veteran Gandhian leader, Anna Hazare. The Government is doing everything to turn upside down his efforts to bring in effective Jan Lokpal Bill. The strong willed Anna Hazare has once again shown that to fight a war with non-violence, is no child's play. Many leaders from the political spectrum, who do not have experience of what is non-violence, should actually learn from what has been going on on the Indian political scene.

It is really a proud moment that for the last 10 days no violence has taken place in any part of the country, which proves that it is a people's movement. Had there been any political party involved in such a agitation, non-violence can not be assured. Shiv Sena and likes of MNS, which has their roots in violence can not and will never understand what is the power of non-violence is and those Mahatma Gandhi bashers should get a fitting reply. Particularly leaders who advocate violence for their petty interest.

The spontaneous support of people for the Team Anna makes task difficult for Team Anna and much more tricky for Government. Team Anna needs to lead with strategy all millions of people who have trust in him and his ability to achieve goal while the government has already looked foolish so far in handling the Anna Hazare episode. Team Anna needs to handle the fire of outrage of people for not conceding to demands by the government, which is very close to betting inflamed at any point of time, requires the government to consider the matter and give up the notion that it is just the handful of people who are doing it. If the Government machinery led by Kapil Sibbal and P. Chidambaram think that they can handle this situation, perhaps they are too small in stature compared to Anna Hazare.

Drama which is continuing since last 10 days, has many heroes and many villains. People understand deeply who is interested in their welfare and who wants to mint money and forget the same people who played a bigger role in electing them to the Parliament. There is no question on Constitution of India, which created Parliament to above every institution in Indian democratic set up. But government has failed to understand the real meaning of democracy.

The people in the Congress led Government has understood democracy as to go to people for votes  every 5 years and after getting votes, forget those who gave them vote for next 5 years. They feel that they are not responsible to people who elected them, at the same time they get irritated if they are asked questions about the failure of Government machinery. So it is made to believe that people who vote them have no right whatsoever to ever dare to ask any questions. People should obediently vote for them, whether to vote for Congress or the BJP or any other party, they have same face, look, principles, working modalities and most importantly their belief of Democracy. So nothing changes, except the faces, with change of Government.

Interesting fact about this Government has been that they have all been busy protecting each other. इस हमाम में हम सब नंगे है! The entire political class is behind the Government in saving their own skin from scrutiny of JAN LOKPAL BILL.

The main opposition party the BJP has been playing around with the words from the day one. They are making people believe that they have different like on the Jan Lokpal Bill, while they are the other side of the coin. These people are out to save the corrupt and dishonest people at the same time implementing every tactics to silence the people like Baba Ramdev, who tried to lead an agitation to bring back the Black Money back to India.

The situation has come where it has become an ego for the Government to backtrack, even in the larger interest of the people. Congress President, needs to prove that she is not a foreigner and knows when to bow to the people's demand. She can not stay aloof and dictate terms. She can not run the Government by remote control.

Is it democracy where scam after scam are unearthed and no one till date is ever punished?
Is it Democracy where the Members of Parliament, once elected act as King of their constituency?
Is it Democracy that persons like Lalu Prasad Yadav, eat up the Chara, meant for the cows and buffaloes?

Mr. P.M. has started to fail...!!!!

The scam after scams has hit the present government very hard. The Stock Exchange, though under the cover of U.S. sneeze have shown a southward trend, the real reason is deteriorating sentiments at home. The markets and the components of the economy have expressed its distrust for this Congress Government. The present situation is very-very bad for the Indian Nation as a whole. One after one markets will collapse in the short run. The reverse cycle has began. People will come out of the Share Market and other markets, those who have already invested in the real estate after earning huge profits in share markets, will find no buys for their homes now, if they have invested such profits in real estate.

Already real estate markets are showing signs of cracking. The huge investments which has come from outside India, the money is clear routing back of the Indian black money into economy, which had created a price rise in the real estate markets, will take a big plunge in very near future. The investors are not interested in investing, as are the actual buyers, who are waiting for the actual plunge to happen. Because he knows that he can not buy the homes at the present market price and he will wait. While the building industry is required to pay the interest on debts they have taken from various sources like banks.

These investors have capacity to wait for some time more and wait for the prices to stabilize. But present situation will be out of control for M.Singh & Mr. M.Ahulwalia.

The economy has slowed down. Such slow down can be blamed on mismanagement of TRUST, the people & foreign investors had in the PM Manmohan Singh's governing team. The inflation is not checked. Not a single government official is seemingly working hard to contain inflation. About inflation, there is a big & hot sentence is known which goes as "NOBODY HAS JAADU KI CHHADI"

Well, to me, it is nothing less than running away or shying away from the real issue. The real cause of inflation has not been studied seriously and nobody seems interested in doing it. Both, Congress & BJP are hand-in-glove due to the corruption, in which both of them indulged. It is very simple and has very little side effects on the economy. Following steps if implemented by our learned Prime Minister, Chief of Planning Comission and longest ever served Finance Minister of India and yes, I forgot, the political big-wig, Mr. Sharad Pawar. The following simple steps & policies will help reduce the probles as faced by the people of this country;

  1. The de-listing of the farm products from the MCX. You can completely close MCX from provising any platform. Forward trading will bring down the prices, which will bring down hoarding as carried out by the traders.
  2. Halt all infrastructure projects, untill utter transperancy is not brought in the project execution, like; project costs, period oc completion, fixing responsibility on officials for not completing projects in time, liability of contractors in case of sub-standard work.
  3. Curtailing spending by the Government officials or the ministerial officials on their private expenses.
  4. Ending subsidies on diesel consumed by the luxury car owners. They must buy the diesel at market rates.
  5. Banning import of products which do not increase productivity.
  6. Setting up and managing priority this nation needs. We have SIM card easily available and cheaper than we can provide milk to the poor people, who live BPL.
  7. Strengthening Public Distribution System (PDS) to reach it to the maximum people and there is no waste of the food grains. It is beyond one's comprehension that so called economist, the Prime Minister, Chairman of the Planning Commission & Finance Mister along with Food & Civil supplies Minister, express their inability to distribute the food to poor and their inability to save the millions of tonnes of food grains from rotting.
  8. We must not boast our selves as a developed economy but better we accept ourselves as a developing economy. Congress must understand that Sonia Gandhi is a foreigner and will remain so. she is yet to prove her nationalistic loyalty to India. All her actions are not in tandem with her claim to be a perfect nationalist.
  9. Privatization under the pressure & influence of IMF was good but it must have DESHI touch to it and must be political decisions rather then economic decision as well as must touch the humanitarian aspect.
  10. Govt must slow down its policy of taking wealth into few hands, by not protecting small level players. Hence allowing foreign investments in retail sector must be postponed and taken very carefully so that the large number of small time businessmen could turn into job seekers into big corporations like wallmart.
These few steps will ease inflationary pressure on the Indian masses. Instead of sitting in side the air conditioned chambers, Finance Minister must start doing something.   He may be right some-where, wrong some-where. Trial & error method will and can help solve any problem. But for that you need to work and do something. PM & PC Chairman may have last chance to improve what they have put this country's state of affairs to. At the moment they seem to be clueless with respect to the same.

Not writing, is better about the Food & Civil supplies Minister, Late Shri Sharad Pawar.

(To Be Continued...)

No Difference between 7/11.....11/26 & 7/13...!!!

Mumbai once again felt tremors. The Mumbaites once again shook completely out of the utopia of safe place to live in. Three bomb blasts once again and over again proved that the targets are Gujaratis, the business community in Mumbai and that the Govt. has been and will be silent spectator in this game of bloodbath. It was a point made clear by the terrorists that they can and will strike at their will. If they are not striking it is not the security agencies that prevent them from carrying out lethal attacks, but it is their choice not to strike oftenly and frequently.

The disregard for the human lives by the terrorists is nothing new and they will carry out their strikes as and when they wish. The political apathy and carelessness, is what is hurting at this point of time. The people have few common things going through their minds. Why not a single politician has ever been hurt or killed in such bomb blast? Why people who are no where involved, are the victims? Why ever in this world no one convicted ever been hanged to death? Why Afzal Guru & Ajmak Kasab are still languishing luxuriously in the jail at taxpayers' money? Why should we pay the taxes for securing those leaders who have least regard for the security of the people of this country?

The India is passing through one of the roughest patch in the history of independent India. The Indian economy is huge and very lucrative and its people are very hard working, if the remuneration is enough to make him feel at ease. But the real situation on the ground is really very bad as the present M. S. Singh Govt. is aim less and rudderless. The Home Minister finds himself patting his own back in failing Baba Ramdev agitation at Ramlila ground, but he is clueless as to how 27 innocent civilians were killed in serial blast in Mumbai on11th July 2011.

It is not surprising that the administration will not budge till, the people from their Politically elite & affluent class. The attack on Parliament had brought the nation on the brink of the war. Pakistan and its cartoons have not dared since then to attack any political leader. They know that killing innocent people will give deep wound in the mind of the people of India, and they will not forget such wounds. At the same time they will remain unscathed till they do not touch the Political elite class. We have not heard in the recent past, perhaps after the death of Rajiv Gandhi, any political leader was the target of the terror strikes. Even the Maoists, who boast to be the savior of poor people, have always killed innocent policemen doing their duty to serve their nation, and following dictates of the Political Class, have never ever been touched. The biggest crime an Indian citizen has committed, for these ultras is, they have born Indian. Besides they are poor or unprotected from the Political elite surveillance.

Attacks will keep on happening till the mentality of the people who rule us changes. The right things will start happening the day these ruling elite thinks that they need to rule the country. They feel that they really need to work and their chance to serve the people has come. Anna Hazaare & Team need not to remind these elite that they are the servant of the people of this country. If this political elite does not understand their duties, they risk their oblivion and utter & definite anarchy will be looking  into the face of the Indians. At that time we ourselves will need to be blamed. But the pertinent question is what can ever be done againt the people who are unwilling to understand the dangers of what they are doing or in fact not doing???

Lessons Of Democracy...!!!

The eviction of Baba Ramdev from Ramlila ground, is just the begining of the end of this Govt. It may be ousted before the term ends after 5 years or it may be thrown out by one of the biggest Indian- Jasmine agitation! One thing is for sure that the Govt has lost the farsightedness in dealing with the local routine issues which affects the nation most. The fast-unto death by Baba Ramdev would have created a divide in the civil society led agitation to route out the corruption in high places, had there been no action in the middle of the night. The Manmohan Singh Govt perhaps lives in Utopia where it branded Baba Ramdev a cheater first and took immediate action to weed him out from the Ramlila ground where he was fasting along with his gullible supporters.

Baba's supporters had become little wary after what happened in the evening when Kapil Sibbal one of the most shrewd minister, systematically succeeded in breaking the backbone of the public image Baba Ramdev had created for all these years. He very cleverly trapped Baba & his supporters and refuted their claims of government not co-operating in accepting their demands.

All these events in the evening of 4th June 2011 could have cemented demise of Baba's image further in the public opinion, for cheating his own supporters, had there been no police swoop in the Ramlila ground and no police swoop on the miserable people, which included old aged men & women, children, who had came from different parts of the country to attend the meet.

Let's not get into what happened at Ramlila ground, and the events of the next day, as entire worls watched these events unfolding live on their television sets. But one thing which has come out of this events is the prematurity of the Govt.& its leaders, ministers and Congress party workers. These idiots needs to be trained in the school to learn to speak for any Indian national, who has equal right vis-a-vis these idiots. The people of this country are free to do what they want to do though lawfully and if millions of nationals feel that the law governing them needs change, they must be heard and followed up by the Govt.

The issue was the funds parked in foreign banks, be declared national assets and brought back to India. Every Indian knows these black money belong to political class and few business people. Hence the movement to bring back these funds will never succeed. In proving Baba Ramdev a cheat Congress Party & Govt. were highly successful. But meanwhile they have opened up their own belly. They themselves proved that they are not interested in bringing those funds back in India. Had they were interested in bringing those funds back, instead of bringing a law they would have promulgated an Ordinance forfeiting those foreign funds with immediate effect!!!!

OBAMA BINS LADEN !!!...HOW TRUTHFUL HEADING.!!!!

The 3rd May 2011 newspaper headlines were very interesting and they were so meaningful but funny. Osama was assassinated by the US forces at Abbotabad near Islamabad, capital of Pakistan. The man behind Al Qaeda' s rise to one of the most evil organization to known history of mankind, after Hitler. The death of this leader of Al Qaeda, could be a turning point in the history of the modern world. The USA must have had prepared themselves in utter depth to deal with this incident. The complete sequence leading to the is little confusing and not yet properly known, which led to shooting down of the dreaded terrorist. But two things are clear:

1. He was killed in PAKISTAN !! The Pakistan Government can not say that they never knew
that Laden lived in Pakistan interior. So that has proved
beyond doubt now that Pakistan is hotbed of terrorism and is
deeply involved in State sponsored terrorism.

2. PAKISTAN FORCES DID NOT KNOW OF USA OPERATION:
The Pakistan Government ignorance about the USA special operation team carrying out operation to decimate Laden, will see Pakistan in soup. As the extremists would not buy Government argument that they knew nothing. Hence in their eyes Pakistan will be more major a target than USA.

Here Pakistan will try to tread very carefully. It is a country which can be called as LIARISTAN (full of liars). They are so versed and achieved expertise in refuting whatever nails them down. It is absolutely meaningless to expect any change of heart from Pakistani side as they do not believe in normal human nature & relationship. The country is waiting to be destructed. It remains to be seen how far Americans take them seriously with respect to the drone strikes, which the Pakistanis threatened to disrupt. Pakistanis are the best manipulators. They know how to use their options in the best possible manner, but always for the wrong thing. Their basic governing fiber is so weak and misled for all these years, that they will not see what is right & what is wrong for them.

Poor Laden, who could have had been ditched by his own men and it could have had been a set up also where Laden might have had been compromised by the Pakistani establishment for much bigger gain. On the face of it it sounds that the operation was carried out with utter precision. With every passing day new details are emerging to indicate that the planning was one of the best US had executed and it is not matched in the previous recorded military history.

OBL was caught sleeping and along with him his bosses in Pakistani establishment never knew of such operation even taking place. That's the best part of the whole operation. Americans hold the Pakistani & ISI in low esteem is evident from the fact that America in fact informed its allies, including India, first and then Pakistan was informed.

Now the world awaits with eager attention and some what anxiety about the retaliation by the extremists groups. The western countries fear even nuclear strike against the innocent civilians.

The role of Laden may be more known to security agencies but what I feel is that he just a symbolic figure, who might have had some influence on few groups and those groups might have had been involved in organized crimes. The so called jihad was never ever an organized endeavor. Al Qaeda somehow could be very nicely marketed organization and people started to feel the hype it created and felt respected & powerful by just associating itself with Al Qaeda.

So it may just be possible that Md. Atta the main conspirator to 9/11, and one of the occupant of the hijacked plane, did what they planned to do, could have done it in individual group capacity and they may have claimed it to be organized by Al Qaeda. While the Al Qaeda was too happy and willing to accept the credit given to it by Md. Atta & group. The organization itself must be surprised what the Islamic world thought of it.

However it sounds as an operations carried out by few small groups of their own and they took pride in showing their affiliation to Al Qaeda. Now this is just what I feel. Because if you see the footage of the OBL, where he was hiding, it shows completely deserted by his followers. He was hiding at a place which was not known to any common man for 6 years. Logically speaking that is possible only after a man somewhat gives up his cause and activity. O.B.L. was not much in the lime light in his last years.

Conflicting reports are released intentionally to douse the emotional flare it could lead to. Some reports say he as killed point blank, others say his own guards killed him. The intentional conflicting reports are released so that for sometimes the followers remain confused as to what actually happened. That's the prefect strategy USA seems to have made. Not allowing Osama' s remains to reach his family, friends & followers is yet another move made by the US planners. It has also refused to release any photos or videos of the killed terror-leader. All these actions cumulatively erase the memories of OBL from the public domain. Osama might have had something to do with Jihad, then the path of the Jihad went through the road of terrorism and its destination being killing of innocent civilians. One thing these group of misguided youth and their leaders should know that they can not win war against a democratic country determined to win a war. Their fight will end with the end of their leader but the fight began by democracy will last for even more than a decade and fight, if justified, can go on for long as in the case of Kashmir.

Surrounded by mindless people, and using his name by the best manipulating country like Pakistan, Osama became one of the prime target of US. Now even if the Pakistanis knew of his whereabouts, they might have felt that giving away Laden to US, will end their game and their economic aid also. So let Americans look for Laden and get more funding from them for allowing to use to them their country as base in American fight against terrorism. Besides the world will come to know Laden was hiding in Pakistan for all these years. It is irony that Musharraf jogged on the same road and Kayani addressed armed forces where in he said that they have effectively broken the back of the terrorism.

The planners at US, remain the best in the world. They have the requisite training, support, equipments and above all will to defend their national interests. This operations shows that if the Americans are targeted by any terrorist organization they will find them and kill them. This message is important. Terror outfits perhaps understand this language and listen to such messages only. A Qaeda now will have to mend their ways and either dissolve themselves or slowly and steadily mingle into the mainstream after denouncing violence. If the Muslims all over world have problem with US, they should fight their war properly and not adhoc.

Now with every passing day, pressure will increase on Pakistan as to why they were supporting the OBL to hide in their country. Besides he was staying near the military school, raises the doubts on the intentions of Pakistan. Well, many stories will come out and many shocking revelations will be discovered.

The change in the game has taken place for India. It means more vigilant Indian forces. There are chances that LET, JEM could try to gain position of Al Qaeda, and in their efforts they could inflict a serious damage to Indian interests. Besides to prove that they are capable, could inflict very heavy Indian casualties. To divert attention of the world from Pakistan's crime it could raise Kashmir issue. It could shout loudly about Kashmir issue's necessity in stabilizing the regional peace. But all in vain, as the world is not going to blink for Pakistan. But India needs to be prepared.

But the greater danger is at home front. One is the Indian Military Chief blurting out about the capabilities of Indian Armed Forces to replicate operation to nail Bin Laden. We know that the Indian forces are one of the best lot in the world. They are capable of carrying out operations which can inflict enormous damage on the enemy confidence. But Mr. Sinha has forgot that he lives in the country of cowards.

Where we hold talks with the murderers of our innocent civilians. We invite those killers to watch cricket match with us, those murderers have privilege to sit with our top elected leaders and share dine with them, instead of initiating hot pursuit of those who have committed crime on our soil.

The other bunch is our politicians who have the capacity & caliber to sell Mother India for few Crore Rupees. They think that the peace in the region is their responsibility! General has forgot that the leaders who has the final authority to take such step like that US President took, are all missing in this country. We have all impotent leadership and to make such a daring statement is nothing but pure stupidity and needless.

The Pakistan foreign office hitherto hiding under the table of the room corner, after Bin Laden was killed in their country, suddenly became brave to tell the world that they will not tolerate Indian adventure into Pakistani territory this, that, bla..bla..blaa.. !! They even threatened derailment of peace process started by our learned Prime Minister, who now seems to be trying his hand at diplomatic gimmicks after fooling Indian masses for 2 decade with Manmohanomics, realizing that the Indian Economic Recovery is not his cup of tea! Now consider this Pakistan has attacked us for so many times, killed our innocent civilians. Then 26/11 happened. India refused to talk to Pakistanis unless the actions are taken against the perpetrators of 26/11. But suddenly one day our Prime Minister, without informing the effective leadership, opposition, started his own mission impossible of bringing peace in the region. To me is nothing less than a 2G, CWG scams.

What our Army Chief missed here was the diplomatic row his statement could create. What we need is to remain quiet spectator. Nothing more than that. Keep clapping if during that show some of your interests are also served. As a Indian national I have full confidence in the Army and entire security forces, but lack the same when it comes to the willingness of our confused and impotent leadership. We are far behind the US Presidents and their willingness to act. President Obama though has not been very favorable to India, as he keeps n making anti-India statements now & then, keeps introducing policies which affects Indians in particular, pampers Pakistan, but he is a great American.

Congratulations President Obama!! God Bless India (with such Presidents)

THE DECAY IN THE RULING ELITE

The fast-unto-death by Gandhian Annaji, has for a while shook the complete Government establishment, which was not even aware of what it turns out to be. The nationwide support to the INDIA AGAINST CORRUPTION, must have worried the people in Government and political professionals (rather ruthless businessmen) of Indian political ambit. The suo-motto feeling of defiance was in heart & determination in the eyes of every Indian of this country, perhaps that was the sight missing for all these decades. The people were united from heart, from within, that it could have had turned ugly, had government not accept the demand of the civil society members.

What is interesting is the petty people like Kapil Sibbal and some Kumaran spoke of something which showed their immaturity to live a public life in India, which has spread the democratic tradition very deep, which these idiots can not even think of. India has learned to live democratic way and it can vent its anger in democratic fashion, too. The pure democratic movement led by the I.A.C. led by Annaji, is criticized by many stupid persons like that of Mahesh Bhatt, who himself has no locus-standi vis-a-vis Annaji. This fellow from Bollywood criticizes I.A.C. movement and formation of the panel to draft the Anti-Graft Bill. The CD controversy related to Shashi Bhushan & Prashant Bhushan has nothing to do with the Draft Committee, is a very clever move initiated by some of the more corrupt & intelligent politicians. These basturds just believe that the people of India are blind, stupid, idiot & mindless. So that they can be fooled very easily.

Logically speaking, these politicians, who are trying to create flutter, should have known a small thing that they live in Democracy and should have accepted the demand and wish of the people bowing their heads in respect for public opinion. That's what democracy is all about, where the people & their opinion on a subject is supreme.

These politicians & their supporters should realize that the days are actually over to collude with the civil servants are practically coming to an end. Hence they should honestly and professionally help bring the order back. But the pity is that the learned politician like Kapil Sibbal & that of like Mahesh Bhatt (why he did not start anti-graft campaign himself, if the Draft Panel has few problems in his eyes?) try to turtle the process of peaceful change being initiated by the citizens of India.

People are least bothered about Bhushans. What they are and where they are involved. Amar Singh (another stout and agent in politics) & Digvijay Singh (who is struggling to understand where he stands in Congress hierarchy) challenges these civil society people, which involves high esteemed Kiran Bedi, Arvind Kejriwal and many more civilians who have come through the system these political idiots seem to protect. What these politicians think of themselves. Have they purchased the Indian Democracy altogether ? Being in the corridors of power have they got right to make comment on everything, however stupid it could sound?

It is high time that the Indian political class understands the under current at the moment. Better they behave themselves and respect the democracy and public opinion, or they must get prepared for something they have never experienced and the world has never heard of.

The people from all walks of life have supported the civil society movement led by Shri Anna Hazareji, under the banner of INDIA AGAINST CORRUPTION (I.A.C.). Annaji & his team-mates have shown that they are not people who can give up that easily. He had warned much before the Government had agreed to form a panel to draft Jan-Lokpal Bill, which envisages stricter laws for the graft, that the political class will not give up that easily. They have power and powerful administrative machinery against the Civil Society and they will need to stand firmly against the evil will.

The movement continues what may come. The people of this country are fed up with the mis-rule of the Congress as well as BJP. They are just the two sides of the same coin. No policy changes but the faces. Dr.Manmohan Singh led economic reforms had started 2 decades ago. Very rosy pictures were then shown. Tax would be cut down, prosperity would usher with the free economy, unemployment will be erased with the infusion of private foreign capital in Indian economy.

Nothing of that sort has happened. Prices of essential commodities have sky-rocketed, taxes have increased to maximum 9it is believed that an average Indian is paying approximately 45% to 50% of his income as taxes). Corruption has gone out of control. Black money have come back to India with back door entry. Foreign exchange has come to India but in Share Market, excess money parked in Indian market for short term and are not for infrastructure development. Infrastructure is in mess and discipline in general public has evaporated. The basic focus of the people of this country has shifted from honesty to dis-honesty. What will happen if the King (here political class) wants to make money uninterrupted, why a layman should just sit and watch everybody around him getting richer, by whatever means they could. What this lay man should do when the entire society, led by the political class who has only one goal, money...money..money!!!!

What kind of this economy is as boasted by Dr. Manmohan Singh & Montek Singh Ahulwalia, renowned economists. What a common man or a lay man will do with the products, like Smart Mobile Phones, I-Pads, I-phones, I-pods, 3D-LED T.V. panels, air-conditioners, washing machines, motor cars, two wheelers, big luxury flats, that give a feel of Villa. He is more worried about disappearing milk, vegetables, fruits & healthy eatables from his kitchen shelves. He is more worried about almost the two times the cost he paid two & half years ago for pulses & food grains. Mangoes remained at the highest at 1000 per 12 pieces for almost the entire March and came down to 500 to 700 per 12 pieces in April.

We need not be economist & learned in foreign country to tell that the food grain is more important than producing these consumables. Using consumables will reduce our resources but producing food grains, vegetables & fruits will keep us healthy. We need lights in the villages and no power cuts in the industries and not the day & night matches & IPL & other Cricket match formats. We are worried about the oil prices and rising oil bill but we shy from bringing the sale of vehicles under control.

Everybody wants to make money without fear of adopting wrong means & methods. Lacs of Tons of wheat destroyed but they were not allowed to be distributed to poor people free or at reduced costs. Food & Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar (ICC President), has made it sure to make him immortal in the minds of the Indians forever for all wrong policies on food & civil supplies. People of this country feel so helpless in case of Shard Pawar. The most corrupt & most........ one does not have word to describe his role in bringing the Indian Democracy on its knees.

These basturds understand only the language of votes. So the Civil Society has made the corruption a major issue. We as a part of this nation must support the people who are fighting our battle for our future generation, where we will be freed from inept Manmohan Singhs, Montek Singhs, who always talks of figures, Sharad Pawars, who do not know where they themselves are going, forget leading the nation. The fight is going to last for long. Many things will change but our focus must not change. Instead of saying " I knew nothing will change" to "This time it is different". Hope is not the only thing we have, we have a will and desire to change. India is our country and these political basturds have not purchased it from we, Indians. We will take our country back from these rascals. For our future generations to live in peace. Our fore fathers fought Britishers, its now our turns to fight against our own people, for the future good.

Those 10 Years...!!! Part 2

We were just wearing those night-dresses. The tremors were experienced in entire Kutch district while places near Bhachau was the epic centre of the massive 7.9 Earthquake measuring on Richter scale, it shook the places even hundreds of miles away from the epic centre, Ahmadabad & even Mumbai.

The disaster did one good thing; all people of the HINGLAJ WADI got united. Residents got together well. Everybody decided to have one kitchen for the whole area and it worked. By afternoon, people had come to know that what they are passing through is the calamity, of a magnitude no one had ever imagined. I was gaining composure and the news that ANTARIKSH COMPLEX, a seven story apartment, had collapsed and it had literally converted to rubble. Nothing was left of that building. It was the end of the road for me. As the basement of approximate 1500 Sq feet place was booked for coaching classes, which I was running in the small town Bhuj. It was a dream, which everybody in the world has right to see, but very few of them are lucky, whose dreams really come true.

I was not amongst those lucky people. Lighting & Furniture work was under way as it was to be made ready by the end of March 2001, so as to start new batches. Few business deals were also being finalized with some other faculty members. Had that building not collapsed, I would have never returned to Mumbai to take up the same job, I had been doing for 10 years before leaving for Bhuj, just 3 & half years ago. But then it’s all the matter of ifs & buts.

Somehow the day passed. As the evening and subsequent night descended on Bhuj, I was scared. We were approximately 25 to 30 people holed up at MANGALAM. The evening supper was arranged by HINGLAJ MATAJI TEMPLE Trust. We had to finish it early during the day light, as there was no light to make it happen late in the evening. The small insects were flying in the air. Slowly the roads were getting deserted. Unseen forces of gloom were experienced. There was clear unknown fear. So many people had died in the morning. So many were in the hospital and many who were critical were leaving this world as and when their role in this drams created by almighty was over!

In the evening I tried to go to my flat in the middle of the old BHUJ, but could not gather courage, and came back from the Petrol Pump, which was by now deserted. Police and other forces were trying to maintain vigil and they were not allowing people to go into the old Bhuj. Almost all buildings in the old Bhuj were either badly damaged or collapsed in the morning. I came back to MANGALAM. It was decided that few youngsters from our group in turns would keep a vigil in the night, they will not sleep.

I was little more scared that night and with the grace of the God, the group decided that my turn would came in the early morning next day (Saturday, 27th January 2001).

As the night was tightening its grip, the January cold was also at work and so efficient nature was that the aftershocks were still coming. We had camped in the backyard of MANGLAM, used as garage. Cold wind was blowing in the night. There were literally no lights, as electricity cables were snapped. I along with other members of the family tried to cover that camping area with bed-sheets and whatever cloth was available. The cold wind took the temperature down to 8 degrees Celsius that night. I remember I had a very difficult time to cover 4 of us in one blanket. As Akshay & Urja were to be protected. Besides this unfriendly weather, aftershocks were killing. A building, on the next plot to that of MANGALAM, not occupied by its original residents, had a water tank precariously hanging over the open space where we had camped. At every aftershock, we looked at the water tank, sometimes waiting it to fall. You never know when that will end your journey in this world, for eternity. Temperature had dipped to around 6 degrees Celsius and it was a nightmare for four of us, and also for all those family members who had taken a refuge there. As we had one blanket, and all four of us needed to be protected.

Two big aftershocks had furthered the fear about nature. Two big aftershocks were felt. It was as if you were sleeping on the bed and somebody was shaking your bed violently. But instead of the bed it was the floor, on which I and all other people were sleeping. The irony was that the land, the floor, we always trusted so profoundly, was shaking. It was an experience of nature turning its face from its children!

Somehow the night of 26th January 2001 passed. In morning I gathered courage to go to my home at around 11.00 o’clock in the morning. Because we had no proper clothing, forget the warm cloths. Nilma joined me and we reached our flat. Somehow we gathered courage to go to 5th floor of our 7 story building. (Actually the residence started from 3rd floor. So the 7th floor became 5th floor.)

Somehow we managed to reach to our flat. It was a mixed feeling. My feet had started to tremble as I had not forgotten what had happened yesterday. Nilma quickly went inside the spare bed-room, she started collecting required clothing. The routine as well as warm cloths. We were sure that it would not be sooner to come back in our flat. That day was better and we managed it much better. We were all prepared very well in the night. But during the day, I came to know that the my aunty Vasantben, who was trapped in the rubble, after being hit in the head, was no more. One of my cousine’s wife and daughter had also died in the accident. Six to seven students were killed and many of them had lost someone who was near and dear one.

The external help had started arriving in the Sunday Morning. By afternoon Bhuj was flooded with rescue operations. Several foreign voluntary teams arrived in the city and they were helping army operatives in rescue operation. By the Sunday afternoon, even we received some aid. Wheat flour, salt, milk and most important was the drinking water pouches. I will never forget that we drank water which was stored for using in the toilet.

On Monday, the 3rd day after the D day, I made contact with my family members in Mumbai. Brother, mother and even father were sobbing uncontrollably. They had little or almost no hope for us, as we were living on the 7th floor and almost all high rise buildings were badly damaged beyond repairs or completely collapsed. We were scared of going into the house. Despite having your own home, I experienced what is homeless is. The 25th January 2001 was the last night we had slept in that house.

The most important was the scar on the mind of Akshay, who was so scared that till today sometimes he finds himself standing in those ruins.

At around 9.00 P.M. on Tuesday, 30th January 2001, we left Bhuj in small luxury bus for Mumbai.

THOSE 10 YEARS....!!! part 1

8:46:00 A.M.,

Friday,

26th January 2001.

The day the world for the people in Bhuj, went upside down. The earthquake which took place there devastated the city and its many people in almost all terms that included me. The horrifying experience was perhaps the one, which nobody could forget for their entire life span. Many people lost their near-ones and dear-ones. The loss suffered by this calamity could not and can’t be made good ever. The death of thousands of people within a span of 1 & half minute, and the tragedy of humanitarian loss of this magnitude was never witnessed by me, before in my life. I was shocked and avowed for few days. With the passage of time, people say, you come to terms with the terrible events of one’s life; but one may never ever forget it.

In the morning at around 8:46 a.m. the floor below me started to shake. I was just reading newspaper, was the first to alert all family members. Nilma was talking to Akshay, my son, barely 6 years old, and my daughter, Urja, 1 & half years old was sitting nearby. It was sheer luck that I noticed it first. I picked up Urja, asked wife to get hold of Akshay. The floor was shaking very lightly but as we all four collected together the shaking intensity increased and went on increasing like anything which was never ever experienced, heard or explored or experienced. That made me scared as one usually looses the courage and temper. With grace of God, I was quick in dragging all of them in the passage our rented flat on 5th floor.

As slowly the intensity of vibration below the surface was increasing, we stood near the staircase as somehow I felt that this could be a strongest area as it housed an elevator, so that part of the building would be stronger here though I had no logic or knowledge to back that of my idea.

No sooner we reached there, we experienced one of the most critical time of our life. The building of 7 stories, started to shake like a small boat in a stormy sea, with a sound of 100 Boeing Jumbo Jet Planes hovering over the sky. It took around 7 big shakes from East to West, before settling. At every shake, either to East or to West, we prayed that the building would not go down from either East or West side. Our eyes were waiting for the imminent collapse of my building and beginning of my journey to eternity. The death was never ever so close and so certain. As Nilma started shouting and chanting NAVKAR MANTRA loudly, Akshay was crying and worried because his parents were scared. Little angel started crying because her brother and mother were crying and shouting. As the Building was doing a balancing act on the roars of the earthquake, I saw the cables of the elevator snapped and it went down crashing from 3rd floor.

As I looked out of the staircase window, which was going to the building terrace, overhead water tank of Hotel Janta Ghar came crashing down. (Later on I learned that around 7 to 9 people were killed there.) Within few moments of the beginning of tremors, it got dusty. The dust was getting into the air due to collapsing structures, buildings etc, but mainly because the tremors were so powerful that people saw the wave of dust getting up in the air along with the speeding tremors coming from the East direction, which passed through several Kilometers below land surface at a magnitude of 7.9 on richer scale.

The nightmare lasted for around 90 seconds, then the earth shaking stopped, I was happy because I had made it in the finals of death race challenge with the mother-nature. Just a few seconds ago I was so certain about my death, took sighed of relief of getting through the worst experience of my life.

The first thing I did was to get back to our flat. Shut the valve of the cocking gas cylinder and switch off light main-switch. (In fact the lights were cut automatically, because of snapped electrical cables.) My legs were trembling as I had lost all that courage and all that made it impossible for me to look around from my window once the earth shaking stopped. All the occupants of the building had been shouting and the scenario was very-very scaring and absolute chaotic.

After around 90 seconds, it stopped; we slowly went inside our flat. Everything was in mess. Fan’s fins were bent, T.V. trolley was broken, save the T.V., everything was on the floor, and kitchen was in total mess. All glass jars with all the stored spices & other stored food material was on the floor. They were so mixed up that we had later on only one option, pick it up and throw. My P.C. monitor was on the floor and was broken completely.

We reached our bedroom, Nilma got one piece of cloth and collected all the valuables from the cupboard locker, bundled it in that cloth and made our way out of our flat. We came down of our building flat by taking staircase steps. As we stayed on the last floor of the building, BHAVIKA PALACE, we perhaps experienced the shakes with more intensity due to our height from the ground. There was complete mess. The street leading to Meher Ali Chowk was completely blocked. As we took other small lane, I lifted few big stone lying in the way and made way for four of us. Somehow we came out on the road leading to Meher Ali Chowk, but then again we felt that we were struck. We were unable to find the way leading to Bhuj Bus Depot. So we tried it from the Panch Mukha Hanuman Street, but the debris of the damaged or fallen buildings scared us as Akshay & Urja were still sobbing. It was good that Urja understood little, but the fear on our faces made her scared too, while Akshay was just sobbing. (For many more months to come, my both children along with their cousins played game of Earthquake. That was the psychological damage it even had on their minds).

On the way to Bhuj Bus Deport, which was at walk able distance from my home, I saw people who were completely covered with debris of their building as if somebody had thrown wheat flour on them. I came across few known faces; we just exchanged each other's well being and asked about each other’s family. We then heard that one marriage party which had come to the community centre of WAGHAD BECHOVISI got stuck in the building which collapsed and many were killed and injured. (See the destiny, the bridegroom, Bhavesh, became my good friend as we travel together to reach to our offices almost every morning.) As I reached VANIAYWAD Chowk, we saw my estranged brother-in-law, Jayant Thacker; we just exchanged inquiries as to be it okay in his family?

We somehow came out of that street as we had in mind the home of my father in law. Somehow we got an auto rickshaw from the bust stand and reached our destination. On the way to HINGLAJWADI, where Natwarbhai, my Father-In-Law & family stayed, the unimaginable devastation I was just witnessing on my way to MANGALAM, were he stayed.

People were just running here and there. I met my cousin Paragbhai, near the DADA-WADI. He was on his scooter and informed me that my Aunty, Vasantben, was trapped in the house in Mehta Street. (She could not be saved as it was not possible to reach to her and due to no medical help; she left for eternity in the afternoon that day.)

The scene was of that absolute chaotic. People were clueless. Few images captured in the mind will go with me to my grave. What I saw was, precariously held portions of damaged buildings, men, women and children running here and there without any clue, children crying, trapped people shouting for help, loved ones pleading everyone who passed from them, who were not in position to save them. I saw a father caught between dilemma as whether to save his daughter whose leg was badly crushed or his wife who could be saved if she was given immediate medical help. But he needed help to pull his wife out of the rubble first, while the daughter was just lying in front of him. (I saw him crying next day, when he said he lost his wife and his daughter’s leg had to be amputed in the military hospital.)

On way we learnt that few buildings had completely collapsed and inhabitants, present at the time of Earthquake had all been buried alive. (Many of them were rescued later on, though.) People were just running here and there. I was so scared that my legs trembled for most of that day. People were bringing in news and I had no courage to take pictures of that devastation.

It took approximately 30 minutes to us to reach to Natwarbhai’ s house, from the time of tremors. Their house was damaged very badly too, but the structure was intact because of the material used in the construction. The news was coming in that once the crowded places and dream houses of many people had come down crashing. A milkman, coming from KALYANESHWAR WADI, was so scared that he was hardly able to speak it properly, said that GOKUL building had completely collapsed and those inside must have had been killed, we just shooed him away, saying not to say it to other people and stop spreading rumors. He swore on his children, that he himself had seen the completely collapsed building which was converted into the huge stack of debris. This building housed approximately 70 families.

People in HINGLAJ WADI were just on the road. Our close relatives like us, had started pouring in at Mangalam, where Natwarbhai stayed. Natwarbhai has had been an icon in our family and commands tremendous respect. Though he is my Father-in-law, but I have learned some of most important lessons of my life by staying with him. Slowly I was regaining my composure. I was so shocked & scared that my legs were still trembling. It was an experience where the floor of the house, which you are so sure of support throughout your life, was shivering. Slowly approximately half an hour later, people did start a minuscule rescue operation of their own. But then came the big after shock. It was so huge that I thought those who were saved in the first tremor, would suddenly again the land shook. It was the second shock of the morning. But it did not last long, nor was the intensity anywhere near to the first-mother of all tremors.
